4 Best architecture website designs

We’ve done it again! We’ve gone ahead and done our Google searching, this time looking for the best architecture website designs on Squarespace, with 4 examples! These designs, are as always chosen for their beautiful minimalist look, as well as great user journeys.

Squarespace makes it absolutely possible for architecture firms to have clean and slick website designs. In fact it has some of the best templates for art and design firms to get started with, if you’re looking for that. Although you can customise each and every Squarespace 7.1 template in the same way (all templates have the same capabilities), and customisation is preferred if you’re looking to not have a cookie-cutter design.

What makes a great website design for an architecture firm/business?

We look for a minimalist design and a good user journey.

Here’s what we mean when we say ‘minimal and clean’ website:

Including only the most necessary elements
Increased negative (or white) space
Including only the most necessary copy
1-2 chosen calls to actions (CTAs)
Maximum 5 links in the primary navigation

What makes a great user journey?:

A fast loading website
Consistent CTAs throughout the page
Pages consisting of the best photography

For each website, we’ll leave a link to the site and which version it was designed on (remember, even if the website was designed on an older version (7.0) template, you can achieve nearly the same exact design with the latest version (7.1) of Squarespace).

Vanguard Studio

This site was designed using Squarespace 7.0.

The main focus on the Homepage are some professional photos on a slideshow, with the navigation listed along the left hand side. Clearly the next path along the user journey is to visit the Projects page, and then the end call to action there is to the Contact form.

2. Architecture in Formation

This site was designed using Squarespace 7.0.

The only thing you see on the Homepage is a slideshow of some beautiful photography from the firm’s previous projects. This website is pretty amazing because there is very little copy and 90% of the website is photography, which does most of the work! This is so refreshing!

3. Norman Sanchez Architecture Inc.

This site was designed using Squarespace 7.0.

Once again the Homepage is not a long scrolling one, and the first thing you see is a slow transitioning slideshow of some of their best work.

4. Flynn Architect

This site was designed using Squarespace 7.0.

A very minimal and chic design, where the next call to action is within the primary navigation only, and the end path to the user journey is the contact form. Once again, it's a very minimalist site, and there is absolutely no confusion as to what the user is supposed to do.
